Seven observances where the calendar is older than any ticket portal. Three have published 2027 dates, three run on customary or statutory dates, and one — the Nashik–Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela — has a provisional state plan covering August and September 2027. Each guide separates the date from the programme, the access route and the crowd plan.

Calgary Stampede

The Calgary Stampede runs from 9 to 18 July 2027 at Stampede Park, combining rodeo, chuckwagon racing, an evening show and a free-admission midway. The organiser's 2027 ticket sales opened on 5 October 2026 and the value-day free-entry windows are already listed.

A Day of the Dead parade participant in skeleton face paint and a striped costume, wearing marigolds and a crescent headpiece, holds yellow fabric at night in Oaxaca.

Oaxaca, Mexico

Day of the Dead

Día de Muertos is a family and community observance on 1–2 November, with altars, cemetery vigils and processions rather than one central show. Oaxaca's state tourism authority published the 2026 Convite and programme; no 2027 schedule exists yet, so the date is customary and the programme is not announced.

Jaipur, India

Holi (Jaipur)

Holi falls on the full moon of Phalguna, which places Dhulandi on 22 March 2027, with Holika Dahan the evening before. Jaipur's own 2027 programme, ticketing and crowd arrangements are not published; the government tourism listings describe Rajasthan's Dhulandi celebrations generally rather than a city timetable.

Nashik & Trimbakeshwar, India

Kumbh Mela (Nashik–Trimbakeshwar)

The next Kumbh Mela in the cycle is at Nashik and Trimbakeshwar, and the state's first-edition plan places its major period in June–September 2027. The plan is explicitly provisional: it lists Amrit Snan bathing days on 2 and 31 August and 11–12 September 2027, and says the schedule can still change.

Major period June–September 2027 · Amrit Snan 2 and 31 August, 11–12 September (state plan, provisional) · Public religious observance; no general-entry ticket verified

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

Naadam

Mongolia's national Naadam is fixed at 11–13 July by the law on the national festival, built around wrestling, horse racing and archery. The date is statutory rather than announced: the law allows the State Naadam to be held in the capital or another designated place, and no 2027 designation, programme or ticket information was published.

11–13 July (statutory) · 2027 host designation not published · Ticketed stadium sessions; horse racing watched from open ground

Seville, Spain

Semana Santa (Seville)

Seville's Semana Santa runs from 21 to 28 March 2027, with brotherhoods processing from their parish churches to the cathedral and back through the week. Seville's tourism board has published the dates and states plainly that the official timetable will not exist until the Cabildo de Horas publishes it.

Chiang Mai, Thailand

Songkran

Songkran marks the Thai new year on 13–15 April with water play, merit-making at temples and family visits. Thailand's tourism authority confirms nationwide observance each year, but no 2027 programme for Chiang Mai exists, so the dates are customary rather than announced.

What to verify before booking

Edition status

A customary date is not an announced edition. Day of the Dead, Songkran and Holi follow a calendar, not an organiser, so no city has published a 2027 programme; Naadam's 11–13 July comes from statute and can be moved by designation; the Kumbh plan is explicitly provisional. Confirm the specific city, procession, ghat or stadium arrangements with the authority named in each guide before booking, and treat every route, closure and transport detail as unconfirmed until it is published for that edition.

Travel details

Use the organiser’s current access, ticket, transport and accessibility instructions. A recurring host or typical month is not confirmation of next year’s programme or exact site layout.
