Seville's Semana Santa runs from 21 to 28 March 2027, with brotherhoods processing from their parish churches to the cathedral and back through the week. Seville's tourism board has published the dates and states plainly that the official timetable will not exist until the Cabildo de Horas publishes it.

01 · Event details
Timing: 21–28 March 2027
Venue or host area: Seville's historic centre, focused on the carrera oficial — the shared official route past the cathedral — while each brotherhood starts from its own parish church. Routes, times and the number of processions differ by day, and some brotherhoods walk in the early hours.
Access: Street viewing is free and unticketed. Reserved seats, chairs and balconies along the carrera oficial are sold or rented by their owners and the Consejo General de Hermandades; no 2027 price or availability was verified. Churches follow their own opening and visiting rules during the week.
02 · Plan the visit
The dates are published by Seville's tourism board; procession times and routes are set by the Cabildo de Horas and published by the Consejo General de Hermandades as the week approaches, so the detailed timetable does not exist yet. Watching from the pavement is free but several rows deep, while seats and balconies along the official route are rented by their owners and the Consejo at prices that vary by day and position. Expect the centre to be closed to traffic for most of the week and plan on walking.
03 · Location
Andalusia's capital is a low-rise city of orange trees and narrow streets, with the cathedral and the official procession route in the historic centre.

04 · Overview
Holy Week in Seville, when around sixty brotherhoods process from their parish churches to the cathedral and back over eight days, carrying floats — pasos — with religious images through the city centre. Each procession is carried by costaleros working under the float, accompanied by bands, and follows a fixed route through the carrera oficial past the cathedral.

Seville's Semana Santa is the most elaborate Holy Week in Spain: the processions are organised by lay confraternities that date back centuries, the floats are parish property, and the route passes a fixed sequence of stops that has been negotiated for generations. La Madrugá, the night from Holy Thursday to Good Friday, is the emotional peak, when six brotherhoods process in the dark and the city stays out all night.
Seville's brotherhoods have processed since the Middle Ages, with the oldest dating from the 14th and 15th centuries, and the tradition grew through the Counter-Reformation into the form it has today. The carrera oficial through the centre has been the fixed route since the 17th century, and the week was cancelled in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic — the first break since the Civil War.
