02 · Plan the visit
The ticket process used a first-come registry followed by a timed purchase window, not a random ballot. At the 30 October 2026 source check, the official ticket page labelled Championship-Round tickets sold out and pointed to verified resale; the PGA Frisco FAQ listed practice tickets for purchase. These are page-status snapshots, not inventory counts. The 2027 FAQ says tickets are digital, warns against screenshots or printouts and cautions about re-entry; parking and transport details were to follow.

04 · Overview
One of golf's four men's majors, run by the PGA of America over four stroke-play rounds in May. Unlike the other majors it has no fixed course, moving between venues each year, and its field of 156 includes club professionals who qualify through the PGA's own professional championship alongside the tour players.
The PGA Championship carries the strongest field in golf by world ranking, because it takes the top 100 players in the rankings as well as the club professionals, and it is the only major run by the professionals' association rather than a governing body. Its move from August to May in 2019 reshaped the season, compressing the four majors into four months and giving the event a different course set-up — softer, greener and more scoreable than the U.S. Open.
The first PGA Championship was played in 1916 at Siwanoy Country Club and was a match-play event until 1958, when it switched to stroke play. It has been held every year since except 1917–18 and 1943, and its roll of winners includes Hagen, Snead, Nicklaus and Woods. The 2027 edition takes the championship to Fields Ranch East at PGA Frisco in Texas, a course built as the association's new headquarters.
